Bookings
Bookings for stallholders are made via our Trybooking web page. Bookings for each market open at 5:00pm on the Thursday immediately prior to the market, and close at 5:00pm on the Saturday.
Stallholders reserve their site by paying a $10 non-refundable deposit via Trybooking, and the remaining balance on arrival to Brighton Sunday Market. Please ensure you have read and understood the Terms & Conditions and Frequently Asked Questions.

Arrival
Queue in the front car park of the school (off Ilfracombe Ave) from 6:00am. Stallholders arriving after 7:00am may forfeit their booking. Once the balance of the site fee has been paid the stallholder will be provided with a ticket and directed to the back car park of the school off King George Avenue where they are guided to their site. No additional stallholders will be admitted after 7:30am.
Stallholders are to pay the balance via our portable EFTPOS device (debit card, credit card or contactless payment) on arrival to Brighton Sunday Market. We are not able to accept payment by cash. This is for our own security and we appreciate your co-operation and understanding with this. One of our volunteers will provide you with a stallholders' ticket on the day of the event which is to be displayed on your vehicle's dashboard throughout the morning.

Departure
By entering Brighton Sunday Market to set up a stall, you agree to the Terms & Conditions. One of these is that you must stay until midday. Stallholders trying to drive through pedestrian traffic creates an unacceptable risk. For safety reasons the vehicle gate will be closed until midday. Brighton Sunday Market's coordinator will open the gate at midday to allow vehicles to leave. You must obey the instructions of Brighton Sunday Market's coordinators to allow an orderly and safe departure.

When is the next Brighton Sunday Market?
Brighton Sunday Market is held on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, unless this falls on Easter Sunday, ANZAC Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or Boxing Day. Follow this link to the calendar for a list of upcoming dates.

May I park on the school grounds?
Parking is available in the front car park of the school (off Ilfracombe Ave) for AUD$2.00. Free 'disability parking' is also available for vehicles displaying a valid parking permit. Street parking is available however please note the City of Holdfast Bay council regularly enforce their signed restrictions.
Please also be aware that the grounds of Minda Incorporated are private property and parking on their grounds is not only illegal, it can prohibit emergency vehicle access. We ask that you respect their privacy and safety by parking elsewhere.

Is Brighton Sunday Market a smoke free zone?
Yes, Brighton Sunday Market is held on Brighton Secondary School grounds, which are designated as smoke-free (including vaping and electronic cigarettes) at all times. If you must smoke or vape, you are required to leave the school grounds and must remain at least 10 metres outside the school's boundaries.

Do you have toilet facilities?
Yes, we have access to Brighton Secondary School's toilet facilities which includes male, female, and accessible toilets.
May I bring my dog to the market?
Yes, dogs on leads and under their owner's control are welcome at Brighton Sunday Market. Only guide dogs and service dogs are permitted in the gymnasium.
Who runs Brighton Sunday Market?
Brighton Sunday Market is managed and staffed entirely by the volunteers of the Music Parents Support Group at Brighton Secondary School. Brighton Sunday Market is a not-for-profit organisation.
What happens to the proceeds?
Funds raised by Brighton Sunday Market are used to support Brighton Secondary School student activities, including the Special Interest Music program.
Stallholders' Questions
Who can sell at Brighton Sunday Market?
Brighton Sunday Market is organised for private individuals and charities wishing to obtain space to display, for sale, any personal possessions or handicrafts and any other goods lawfully permitted to be sold.
How many stallholders’ sites are available at Brighton Sunday Market?
Brighton Secondary School can hold approximately 80 sites including general outdoor sites, permanent outdoor food sites (only available to approved stallholders), and indoor sites. Please check our Facebook page for the latest information specific to each event.
Is there anything I can’t sell at Brighton Sunday Market?
Illegal, dangerous or offensive items cannot be sold at Brighton Sunday Market: e.g. firearms, livestock or any living animal (including birds or fish), therapeutic goods, including medicines, vitamins and nutritional supplements, counterfeit or fake products, pirated software, pirated CDs and DVDs, alcohol, pornography, tobacco, vaping fluids, and weapons or any other material deemed objectionable. If you wish to sell 'prescribed items' you will have to provide personal contact details. Selling of lottery tickets is not permitted without prior agreement with Brighton Sunday Market management.
Can I sell food/drinks at Brighton Sunday Market?
There are specific provisions attached to selling foodstuffs, confectionary and drinks at Brighton Sunday Market. These items are not to be sold without prior arrangement with Brighton Sunday Market management.
How do I apply to sell food/drinks at Brighton Sunday Market?
- Contact Brighton Sunday Market management to gain approval by emailing us at [email protected]. Include in your email a short summary of your proposed foods/drinks set up, including what food/drinks you are seeking approval to sell. Please attach your Certificate of Currency, as the market operators require food and beverage sellers to carry their own insurance. Please also provide evidence that you have notified your local council under the SA Food Act 2001. More information about sellers' notification requirements can be found at the State Government's Food Business Notification page.
- Assessment of your food/drink application is undertaken by Brighton Sunday Market management. Further information/clarification may be requested during this process.
- When you receive an email from Brighton Sunday Market management approving your application, follow this link to complete the Food Permit Application form (updated February 2023).
- Upon confirmation of approval, a starting date with Brighton Sunday Market management will be arranged.
- The review of food/drink stallholders is an ongoing process of market operation. Spot checks of food/drinks stallholders occurs each event to ensure compliance with Terms & Conditions.
What health and safety measures are food and beverage sellers expected to follow?
Stall holder's electrical fittings and equipment must comply with all laws relating to work health and safety. More information about inspection and testing of electrical equipment can be found on the SafeWork SA website.
No gas or portable cooking appliances are to be used without the prior written approval of the Market Organisers. It is the responsibility of the stallholder to provide a working fire extinguisher and fire blanket for any stall where gas burners or portable cooking appliances are used.

Can I hire tables, stands, racks etc. to display my goods?
Brighton Sunday Market management is not able to provide furniture or equipment to outdoor site stallholders, so you must bring whatever you need.

Can I put up a marquee/gazebo?
Portable marquees, gazebos, umbrellas and similar shade structures are permitted with the following provisos: no more than three metres square, they must be secured by means other than pegs in the ground e.g., sand bags, weights etc.
Can I advertise my organisation?
Brighton Sunday Market is for the sale of goods, so it is not appropriate for advertising your organisation/business, unless you have merchandise for sale.
Do I need insurance?
We cannot advise on whether you, as a stallholder, should take out/have insurance, unless you are selling food or beverages. The market operators carry insurance to cover their own liabilities. Stallholders are advised that these insurances do not cover the activities of stallholders. Food and beverage sellers will be asked for their Certificate of Currency as part of their application package.
What time can I leave?
All stallholders are required to remain in place until midday as described in the Stallholders section below and in the Terms & Conditions.
Can I leave unwanted items and rubbish at Brighton Sunday Market?
No, all unsold items, packaging and rubbish must be removed from the site by the stallholder. Failure to do so could result in exclusion from future events.
Indoor Stallholders' Questions
What is the cost of an indoor stall?
Indoor stalls cost $30 per stall for a 2m x 2.5m space. A single 1.8m table and two chairs are provided. These stall sites are smaller than our outdoor sites, so please consider how much display space you require before booking. Stallholders are requested to bring a cover for the table.
How much space will I have?
Each indoor stall will have 2m x 2.5m allocated to them. Additional freestanding displays within this area are permitted within reason, provided they are not impeding another stallholder’s space or pedestrian areas.
Display stands and other display items must have plastic or rubber feet, free from stones or other sharp/abrasive items to avoid damaging the floor of the gymnasium. They should be sturdy enough to ensure they do not fall over. All items should be displayed on the table provided, or on appropriate racks and display stands, e.g. clothing rails. Loose items or items in boxes are not permitted on the floor, in front of or next to the allocated table. No items are allowed on or against the walls.
Stallholders who do not comply with the above requirements and cause damage to the gymnasium floor, will be charged for resulting repair costs.

Is there access to power available?
We are not able to provide any indoor stalls with access to power.
Can anyone book an indoor stall?
Indoor stalls are available for any non-food vendors. Please consider if your goods are suited to an indoor stall space. Items that could damage the gymnasium floor will not be permitted. This includes any heavy items, items with metal feet or wheels, or items that could leave liquid or chemical residue on the floor.
What time should I arrive?
Indoor stallholders are to arrive from 6:00am and queue in the front carpark (off Ilfracombe Ave). Please arrive no later than 7:00am or entry may be forfeit. Trading hours commence at 7:30am.
Where can I park my car?
Onsite parking is available a short walk from the gymnasium. One parking space is allocated per stall. Access to indoor stallholder parking is via the front car park (off Ilfracombe Ave). Indoor stallholder's vehicles must be parked in the allocated parking area or off-site. The front carpark is not available for stallholders' vehicles during trading hours to maximise customer parking for the market. Additional vehicles must be parked off site.
Can I park outside the gymnasium to drop off my goods?
For safety reasons, parking outside the gymnasium will not be permitted. There are market stalls set up in this area and vehicles driving through pose an unacceptable risk.
How will I get my items from my vehicle to the gymnasium?
Stallholders are welcome to use trolleys and sack trucks to transport their goods. These must have rubber or plastic wheels to avoid damaging the gymnasium floor. Any trolleys or sack trucks with metal wheels will be refused entry to the gymnasium.
Can I book more than one table?
It is only possible to book one table per stall booking. Should you wish to book two tables you would need to make two separate stall bookings. There is no discount for booking two or more stalls.
Are dogs allowed in the gymnasium?
Only guide dogs and service dogs are permitted in the gymnasium.
What time do I have to leave?
Stallholders are expected to remain during trading hours 7:30am – 12:00 midday. Pack up is from 12:00pm. All stallholders must vacate the gymnasium by 1:00pm. All unsold stock, packaging and rubbish must be removed from the school site by the stallholder. Failure to abide by Brighton Sunday Market's Terms & Conditions may result in exclusion from future events.

- All people attending Brighton Sunday Market are required adhere to any instructions or requests made by market volunteers.
- Brighton Sunday Market Management reserves the right at all times to eject or cause to be ejected from the premises any persons and their chattels and refuse admission and/or ban from future attendance at the markets, without giving any reason whatsoever.
- Brighton Sunday Market / Brighton Secondary School accepts no responsibility for any transactions taking place within the Market.
- It is expressly agreed that Brighton Sunday Market / Brighton Secondary School will not be liable for any personal injury to or any loss or damage incurred by any person entering the BSM whether caused by any neglect, act or default of any servant, or agent of the School or caused by the negligence or omission of any stallholder.
General
- Brighton Sunday Market is held on school grounds, which are designated smoke-free (including vaping and electronic cigarettes) at all times. If you must smoke or vape, you are required to leave the school grounds.
- Generators are not allowed to be used on school grounds.
- Busking is only permitted by current Brighton Secondary School students.
- Removal of vehicles from the school grounds is entirely the owner's responsibility.
Goods and/or Services
- No firearms, therapeutic goods, including medicines, vitamins and nutritional supplements, counterfeit or fake products, pirated software, pirated CDs and DVDs, any materials rated R 18+, alcohol, pornography, tobacco, vaping fluids, and weapons or any other material deemed objectionable will be displayed or offered for sale.
- No alcohol of any kind may be offered for sale or consumed on the premises.
- No livestock or any living animal (including birds or fish) may be offered for sale.
- No dangerous or offensive materials are allowed.
- Sale of 'prescribed goods' is permitted. 'Identification' requirements apply.
- Sale of lottery tickets is not permitted without prior agreement with the Brighton Sunday Market management.
- To sell food, confectionery or drinks of any kind you must have prior approval of Brighton Sunday Market management. Food and drink stallholders must also register with the City of Holdfast Bay council before selling at the market.
- Each stallholder must display their ticket as proof of payment of admission.
- For safety reasons we need stallholder to stay in the market until midday.
- Stallholders are required to leave the school grounds by 1:00pm. After this time, the gates will be locked and a lock-in charge will apply.
- Marquees, gazebos, umbrellas and shade structures must be freestanding and supported by weights.
- Each stallholder must remove all items brought by them to Brighton Sunday Market, including packaging and cardboard boxes of any size.
- No loudspeakers or any other equipment for amplifying sound shall be used at any time during the conduct of Brighton Sunday Market and stallholders attending Brighton Sunday Market are prohibited from shouting or otherwise making loud sounds to draw attention to their wares.
- Brighton Sunday Market stallholders must show respect to the local community, including by keeping the noise down before 8:00am.

- All stock should be displayed on the table provided, or on appropriate racks and display stands, e.g. clothing rails. Loose items or items in boxes/containers are not permitted on the floor, in front of or next to the allocated table.
